Job Description & Summary
We are looking for you! The experienced tax specialist with an international perspective who wants to delve into complex VAT issues in a sector with (mostly listed) multinational companies that have activities all over the world. We call this Public Interest Entities (PIE).
Who Are We?
Public Interest Entities operates in international trade, which creates a fascinating playing field. The type of clients is diverse, you work for international e-commerce companies, world-famous clothing brands, electronics companies, private equity firms, and well-known tech companies. We advise our clients to ensure compliance with global VAT legislation. This creates a dynamic interaction between the client, regulator, and advisor. As a team, we are an extension of the client and we communicate, among other things, with the (local) tax authorities in the countries where they operate. We also represent our clients in court when a judicial procedure is initiated.
We are constantly on the move as a team. This requires flexibility from our employees, but it also means that we offer a wide range of flexible work arrangements ourselves. We work hybrid, you work from home and/or in the office. We are a diverse team and believe that diversity makes PwC stronger as a company. This enables us to solve important problems better and deliver value to our clients. We encourage an inclusive culture where people can be themselves, are appreciated for their strengths, and are empowered to bring out the best in themselves.
What You Will Do
As a VAT specialist in the ITX PIE team, you will solve complex VAT issues for our international clients. No day is the same, which keeps the work interesting and varied. As a Manager Indirect Tax - Public Interest Entities, you are the point of contact for both your colleagues and your clients and play an important role in the team. With the professional work experience you have, you guide less experienced advisors in the team and help them develop within PwC. You are also able to co-manage the team for good client service and (technical) quality assurance, thereby relieving more senior colleagues. Due to the international nature of our clients, you are in contact with colleagues working at foreign PwC offices. This makes the work varied and allows you to quickly build an international network.
- You are always in conversation with your clients about relevant developments or issues they are facing;
- You also have an eye for matters other than VAT. You work closely with colleagues working in other (tax) areas. Through the multidisciplinary approach, you relieve the client from a broad perspective. You optimize the (international) VAT position and/or (cross-border) supply chain of clients;
- You contribute to writing objection and appeal letters and are involved in discussions with the Tax Authorities. In addition, you think about the use of technology to make the work of your client and yourself more efficient. Of course, there is the possibility to specialize further in a specific region (such as the US or Asia) or a specific sector, so that you can be a broad discussion partner for your clients based on your knowledge of the business, sector, and societal developments.
We consider it important to play a role in the ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance)-related topics of our clients. Your work has a direct impact on society and you act accordingly. You are happy to contribute to solving societal issues.
You Recognize Yourself in This
- You are an ambitious tax specialist and want to give a flying start to your career as a Manager Indirect Tax - Public Interest Entities. You want to grow, build relationships, make an impact, and bring out the best in yourself and your colleagues;
- You have a university degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics;
- You have at least 6 years of relevant (VAT) work experience;
- You enjoy working in a team, are able to motivate others, ensure quality, and have a positive mindset to further assist both the team and your clients;
- You have strong analytical skills and quickly familiarize yourself with new technological solutions, such as Alteryx and Power BI;
- You have a good command of the Dutch and English language.
What Are We Offering?
At PwC, you will have the opportunity to be yourself, get the best out of yourself in a high-performance organisation and grow within our global network. As part of our team we offer:
- A competitive salary, permanent contract, attractive pension plan and the opportunity to grow rapidly;
- Customised training for professional growth and leadership development;
- Motivating work environment where collaboration with ambitious colleagues and recognition for your contributions are highly valued;
- Comprehensive benefits including "well-being budget" for physical and mental health;
- Flexibility of hybrid working, including ergonomic home office and fixed expense allowance including internet allowance;
- Attractive mobility options, including electric lease car, car waiver allowance and the possibility of using different shared transport providers;
- 32 vacation days per year;
- Fun extras such as various informal company activities.
These are just a handful of our terms of employment. Find more information on our website.
