International Tax Specialist-Senior

What you will be doing:

Tax audit and compliance: Manages internal/ external tax audits as per local and international legal requirements to successful completion in order to minimise FedEx's financial exposure, which includes management of subsequent litigation processes. For EMEA/ assigned countries, respnsible for ensuring that VAT and corporate income tax compliance requirements are fulfilled timely in full compliance with local regulations. Includes both direct and indirect taxes.

Tax planning & advice: Anticipates & identifies business changes, gathers company data to conduct research/ review tax legislation. Develops/ implements tax strategies; to ensure minimum tax liability and limit tax risk exposure. Provides critical advise on EMEA initiatives (M & A/ billing etc). Actively contributes to cross functional projects by identifying and addressing tax issues/ constraints/ opportunities while integrating inputs from all other departments.

Transfer Pricing: Defines, implements and supervises inter-company transfer pricing policy and documentation, within the US framework and in full collaboration with US counterparts, in order to support the company’s inter-company transactions for tax purposes.

Tax Controls: Proactively reviews and supervises existing reporting to the US, recommends improvements or alternatives and implements them. Defines, develops and implements procedures and controls (system driven/ controllers etc) that secure tax processes. Recommends and develops new processes where required and implements them. For assigned countries, initiates, develops and leads projects related to international corporate tax matters. Makes recommendations and ensures consistent implementation. Operates in full autonomy and with high technical expertise on: Direct/ indirect taxes; Internal/ external audits; Major Projects; Processes improvements; Multi country/ Multi entity;

Communication: Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant peers within the FedEx network to maintain alignment; across departments to influence and obtain collaboration and across levels to share expert advise. Manages relationship with external consultants and bodies (tax authorities, industry association etc.)

What do you bring with you:

- Excellend language skills (Written/ verbal) including English and another language
- Diploma in tax / tax law / Economics / Accounting
- Experience in applying abstract concepts to practical situations
- Experience in managing tax audit independantly
- Knowledge of tax accounting
- Excellent soft skills including communication, flexibility, innovative thinking, exposure on dealing with senior management, analytical skilles, judgement and decision making, working independently
